Jeffco’s county commissioners voted 2-1 to approve a change in the cost to license dogs in the county, creating a flat $20 fee for both altered and unaltered canines.

The flat fee represents an increase of $5 for dogs that are spayed or neutered, and a $10 decrease for unaltered canines. The program is administered by Foothills Animal Shelter, which asked for the increase to shore up its finances.

Personally I think unaltered animal fees should be more.
