Colorado Senator Cory Gardner says he better not and will threaten to delay new DOJ hires if he does. Maybe Congress should instead decriminalize Marijuana and let the states decide if they want to legalize it?

Yes congress need to remove weed from the controlled substance list.

Sessions is a moron- why stir up this hornets nest now? I think it's because of California's legal pot just a few days ago.
It's pretty widely known that Trump is not very happy with Sessions, I think he will be ousted soon.

Jeff Sessions has been on the "prosecutor job" for way too long. He's dreaming of the good ol days when you could send a guy to jail for pot.
That said now maybe the congress will do something about this- simple, just remove it from the controlled substance list.
Quote:
DENVER — Colorado’s top federal prosecutor said his office won’t alter its approach to enforcing marijuana crimes after U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions withdrew a policy Thursday that allowed pot markets to emerge in states that legalized the drug.

Doesn't look like anything will be changing here in Colorado...

My guess is that Trump is going to fire his ass since all this would do is give more votes to Dems.... but he better hurry.

And John, there's a huge black market in CO too. I know a lot of weed smokers and none of them buy from a store and pay the tax. I may know a couple people who grow it.

I know a guy who’s been growing in northern Cali for years. He’s got a gigantic greenhouse and a full crew. He makes $50k a week..

You cannot crack down on legal MJ now, the tax revenues are too juicy and state legislator critters are addicted now. Just like for cigs and Booze.

He might actually lose business if new growers start up. I know a guy who builds the electronics for greenhouses. Legal pot sales have made him wealthy.

*smiles* Now what would Coloradans have to do out there? We're pretty sure we're showing California how it's done.

...but without the associated acute public health impacts, generally. Just a whole bunch of upset anti-modernists who can certainly go hide in dry austere extremist theocratic cultic communes or whatever it is that they want from life. Hey, on the bright side: Retire from war! Enjoy a civil peace dividend again! Enjoy living in a society that isn't literally earnestly trying to destroy itself through harm and spite politically directed directly against our best spirits and such bottomless racial animus for over four decades of growing dystopia of fascists, pirates, cults, and philistines empowered against America's progress by a Nixonian administration best described as "utterly depraved and Treasonous in its breathless scope of corruption, only to be exceeded again by Reagan, and then once again by Cheney."

But now it's all exposed, so what's going to happen? Sessions wants to kick in heads like it's somehow still 1955 and the psychedelic revolution never happened. But that's delusional, that senile man is as detached from reality as the quite literally deplorable regional politics that buoy him into the light. I'm pretty sure The People are still terribly fond of the future they were working hard to build together before someone convinced the American government to launch its own utterly tragic neocolonialist attack upon America. If they can't have nuclear war, we can't have domestic progressive flourishing? So, we see now the consequence of empowered corruption, and four decades of destructive tragic betting against American equal prosperity.

Now we see the extreme results of this program-- it's written out in humans lives. It's written out in culture. It's like some poison fills the air, but almost everyone has gotten used to it. Except it's dysfunctional and self-destructive, and when we compare ourselves with our peers abroad (because we spend our daily lives together, online, communities and societies spanning continents and language) and discover something about our system has seemingly left us withered, handicapped even, culturally, because we've literally been wrongfully embattled and consumed with two mutually-exclusive ideas about what liberty and equality demand for the progress of the United States of America.

It seems, pretty much, to be us vs the beastly lying predatory entities behind and animating Moore and Sessions and of course Trump too, but at least now nobody is confused about where people stand, or why, or how credibly. We're not interested in renegotiating the old hard-fought progress. There's already so much to correct about the way things have been, we'll have our spiritual and medical use, certainly. Thank you very much for your dissenting opinion, and goodbye to both you and it, there's no conversation to be had here that doesn't go badly for those who invested so deeply in a kooky and morally bankrupt ideology of hatred and exploitation. "Just say no," to culture war.
