Bear it's simple neither the government or corps should be controlling anything.

In Spain the internet is free everywhere, and its lighting fast- Why wouldn't a government want too provide that for their people?

Pinocchio ALERT!

It sounds like their Internet is the about the same as here, not free. Except maybe for some public wi-fi hotspots same as we have.

"The biggest providers are:

Movistar (also known as Telefónica) - The biggest provider in the country, with almost 50% market share.
Ono - The biggest cable broadband provider, bought by Vodafone recently.
Jazztel - A popular ADSL and fibre optic provider nationwide.
Orange - The Spanish branch of the French company.
Vodafone - They used to be small in home broadband but they've become the second biggest provider after Ono's acquisition.
MasMovil - The newest and the fourth biggest Spanish provider.

They did have free public wi-fi last year when we visited Barcelona during Holy Week. Fort Collins is planning to do the same next year. Maybe the Gambler can move there, or Boulder.

Well the corporations are the ones who own the internet infrastructure. They are the ones who invested in it. If you own something, should you be in control of it? Or will you allow the government to control it?

The answer is simple for me, If I own something then I want to be in control- obeying all the laws of course...

FCC releases the text of its order to undo net neutrality
Engadget 15 hours ago

A few weeks after the FCC voted to undo Title II protections for net neutrality, it has released the final text of its "Restoring Internet Freedom Order." That includes the contained arguments for why chairman Ajit Pai and two other commissioners believe the existing rules were harmful and absolutely must go.

It is actually really simple. Rule by executive order bypassing congress and see your orders rescinded next election cycle.
