At U.N., Trump threatens “total destruction” of North Korea
DenverPost, By Jonathan Lemire and Darlene Superville of The Associated Press, September 19, 2017 at 9:00 am

UNITED NATIONS — President Donald Trump, in a combative debut speech to the U.N. General Assembly, threated the “total destruction'” of North Korea... Trump... previously warned of “fire and fury...” Trump frequently belittled the U.N. as a candidate... While running for office, Trump... suggested it was “not a friend” to the United States or democracy...

You were saying?

Where did he say he is going nuclear? The US has some very impressive conventional munitions that can end North Korea as a threat.

The language is manifestly clear and nuclear, but even a conventional war crime is still a war crime.

Somehow CK, the media, and many others are missing (or choosing to ignore since it wouldn't fit their narrative) the first part of Trump's statement. From CK's Denver Post link: Trump spoke of his own nation’s “patience,” but said that if “forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.” (bold is mine)

Obviously, Windchime, because Trump is objectively an irredeemable gaslighter and psychopath, and because, as we have seen documented here, the US has for quite some time now been wrongfully and demagogically sowing such destabilizing provocation direct and indirect into that region via PsyOps and other profoundly dark sins against humanity, we can reasonably conclude that any and all such "defense" will be triggered only by false pretense precisely and exactly like the spirit of Turkey's invasion of the Ottoman empire, Nazi Germany's invasion of Poland, and Fascist US's invasion of Iraq in 2003. That's the problem with elevating non-credible fascists above decency and credible liberal democracy. Everything they say is false. Everything they do is done under false premise or directly under the banner of abject evil and its many noxious flavours. Elevate humanity above all forms of fascism and sanctify peace above all injustice of war.

Or maybe North Korea found it productive to rattle sabers with previous administrations? The US gave them nuclear power plants and money to simmer down. President Trump is tired of paying off spoiled children and threatens to spank them instead.

When one person strikes another, we call that aggravated physical assault and not "spanking."

Using anecdotes to prove your point? Well, I guess whatever works for you.

Nah, I made my points long ago. This is the afterparty.

Amid war of words, U.S. warplanes fly near North Korea in a rare show of force
Los Angeles Times, by W.J. Hennigan, Sept. 23, 2017

American bomber and fighter jets flew along North Korea's eastern coastline Saturday in a "show of force" that was closer to the rogue nation's border than any other mission this century, the Pentagon reported.

The rare predawn flight came amid heightened tensions between Pyongyang and Washington... Dana White, chief Pentagon spokeswoman, said in a statement Saturday that U.S. B-1 bomber and F-15 fighter jets launched from airfields in the region and flew in international airspace over waters east of North Korea.

While the U.S. military routinely conducts such missions in response to North Korean missile and nuclear tests, this flight was the "farthest north of the Demilitarized Zone any U.S. fighter or bomber aircraft [has] flown off North Korea’s coast in the 21st century..." White said.

Yes. That won't possibly provoke an escalation, miscalculation, or internationally-justifiable defensive action. What could possibly be wrong with you, you endlessly-deplorable fascists. You dangerously-arrogant hubristic racist monsters. Tell me, did you fly that one with live nuclear ordinance ready to sweep in if they started shelling Seoul after reasonably concluding they're now under attack?

This needs to stop. It needs to stop right now. Let us pull our futures out of your wrongful fire. You do not have any such right. You did not in 1964. You did not in 2003. You do not in 2017. You never will. It's monstrous. You're monstrous. There is no excuse or justification sufficient for you. You are an enemy of civilization itself.

Anti-THAAD activist dies after setting himself on fire
The Korea Herald, By Kim Min-joo, Sept 20 2017

South Korean activist Jo Young-sam died one day after setting himself on fire Tuesday in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to protest against the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system.

THAAD should go and peace shall come. (The peace initiatives of) the Moon Administration should prevail,” 58-year-old Jo had said. He also left a four-page statement addressed to President Moon Jae-in, in which he denounced the THAAD deployment and called for peace initiatives regarding North Korea.

Jo had suffered third-degree burns all over his body and had been rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, he died Wednesday morning.

Jo visited North Korea in 1995 upon a formal invitation from Lee In-mo, who had been repatriated to the North. After his visit to North Korea, Jo took refuge in Germany for 18 years. He finally returned to South Korea in 2012 and was sentenced to one year in prison for his unauthorized visit to the North.

After serving his prison sentence, he moved to Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province, and had recently been engaging in an anti-THAAD campaign.

At a joint press conference early Wednesday, activist groups said the Moon administration and the US should be held accountable for his death.

Gee. You know, they seem to feel pretty strongly about this whole "no means no" THAAD thing.

Fascism is as bullsh-t as war.

Russia, China call for restraint after Trump comment on North Korea
Reuters Staff, 2017-10-09

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia and China called for restraint on North Korea on Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump warned over the weekend that “only one thing will work” in dealing with Pyongyang, hinting that military action was on his mind.

When asked what Russia made of Trump’s comments, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a reporters on a conference call:

“Moscow has called and continues to call on the parties involved in the conflict and on those who have anything to do with this issue to exercise restraint and to avoid any steps that would only worsen the situation.”
