Have you considered renewing your CPR training or taking a new CPR/AED course? The use of CPR and an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) increase the chances of a victim surviving a sudden cardiac arrest. In Evergreen two lives have been saved by resident using these techniques.

The Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce has formed a partnership with Evergreen Fire/Rescue, Evergreen Public Access Defibrillation (E.P.A.D.) and St. Anthony Hospitals to offer FREE - CPR/AED training to the entire community. “This is a strong collaboration in 2012 with a local government entity, two non-profit organizations and a local hospital system to bring this training to as many people as possible,” said Alicia Sexton, Governmental Affairs Vice Chair of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber offered to participate as a public relations partner to provide businesses and citizens the opportunity to register for training through a link on the Chamber website and to assist with spreading the word about this exciting new program. “We want Evergreen to be recognized as a ‘Heart-Safe Community’ through joint efforts like this to educate the entire community about making a difference between life and death.

E.P.A.D. has worked with the fire department and several organizations to help purchase and place 47 Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) in public buildings, schools and business over the past 10 years and we need more of our citizens to be trained to save lives with CPR and AED use,” commented Dave Montesi, President of E.P.A.D. Training instructors will be paid by the ongoing fundraising through his organization and Evergreen Fire/Rescue.
