TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY MORNING...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

LOW CLOUDS...PATCHY FOG...SPOTTY SNOW FLURRIES AND FREEZING
DRIZZLE ON THE PLAINS OF NORTHEAST COLORADO TODAY WILL HOLD
TEMPERATURES TO THE 20S AND 30S. TONIGHT THE FREEZING DRIZZLE AND
FOG ARE LIKELY TO BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD WITH INCREASINGLY MOIST
UPSLOPE FLOW. THE FREEZING DRIZZLE, SNOW FLURRIES AND FOG COULD
EXTEND UP INTO THE FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS AS HIGH AS 8000 TO 8500
FEET OVERNIGHT. LIGHT ACCUMULATION OF ICE OF HARD SURFACES COULD
PRODUCE VERY SLIPPERY ROADS AND OVERPASSES LEADING TO POTENTIALLY
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS TONIGHT. IN ADDITION TO THE LOW
CLOUDS AND FOG...THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE STATE MAY ALSO SEE
LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATION OVERNIGHT.

THE MOUNTAINS AND HIGH VALLEYS WILL LIKELY REMAIN MILD AND DRY
DURING THE PERIOD WITH GUSTY WEST WINDS OVER THE HIGHER RIDGES UP
AROUND TIMBERLINE. GUSTS IN THE 35 TO 50 MPH RANGE WILL BE
COMMON IN THESE AREAS.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

FOG AND FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL BE ENDING BY LATE THURSDAY MORNING
ACROSS THE PLAINS OF NORTHEAST COLORADO. LIGHT SNOW IS ALSO
POSSIBLE THURSDAY MORNING FOR THE COUNTIES THAT BORDER NEBRASKA.
TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN ON THE COLD SIDE THROUGH FRIDAY THEN
WARMER AND DRY FOR THE WEEKEND ACROSS THE PLAINS.

FOR THE MOUNTAINS...PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE
WEEKEND. THE FIRST SYSTEM IS EXPECTED THURSDAY NIGHT, WITH NEXT
ONE HITTING FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY. A STRONGER SYSTEM MAY
AFFECT THE MOUNTAINS EARLY NEXT WEEK.

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

851 PM MST WED FEB 1 2017

...ICY SURFACES WILL STAY THAT WAY OVERNIGHT...

.WIDESPREAD FREEZING DRIZZLE AND FOG EARLIER THIS EVENING COATED
MUCH OF NORTHEAST COLORADO IN A GLAZE OF ICE THAT IS GOING TO
REMAIN IN PLACE OVERNIGHT. THE FREEZING DRIZZLE HAS ENDED OVER
MANY PARTS OF THE NORTHEAST PLAINS AND VISIBILITIES HAVE ALSO
IMPROVED. AT 830 PM MST...AREAS OF FREEZING DRIZZLE LINGERED OVER
THE DENVER METROPOLITAN AREA AND THE PALMER DIVIDE. DRIZZLE IS
EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY DIMINISH THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.
HOWEVER...COLD TEMPERATURES OVERNIGHT WILL KEEP THE GLAZE ICE IN
PLACE THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING. IMPROVING CONDITIONS ARE NOT
EXPECTED UNTIL MID OR LATE THURSDAY MORNING. SECONDARY ROADS WILL
BE PARTICULARLY ICY.
