Ratings for the NFL have been declining the last two years, some believe due to the players refusing to stand for the anthem. The contract between players and owners says they get 48% of earnings. With ratings down 19% and after players have lost numerous endorsement deals, they are starting to feel it in the pocketbook. Unfortunately I think they cannot back down at this point. One possible solution being offered is they will go back to standing if Colin Kapernick gets a job in the league. Quick, some team make him a waterboy! Have you been watching less NFL this season? I have been, only watching the Broncos and luckily skipped the Giants debacle last week.

Papa John's pulls all their advertizing from the NFL this week.

Yes, it sounds like the advertisers have had enough of the extra coverage of the kneeling protests.

"Going forward, marketers want more of the focus on games and less on the protests. Yaccarino said the NFL's broadcast partners had not always aired the national anthem for each game...that is, until the protests gained steam. "

I saw a list of advertisers and I admit that I thought twice when I saw it in the store. The kneeling really upset me but now it is better so I am over it.

TV coverage should be of the games, not the side shows/protests. That is for the news pundits.

They have long had a policy of not showing fan protestors running out on the field during a game. Same thing.

It is so stupid that they use the flag for grievances that have nothing to do with the flag.

Fewer and fewer football players are kneeling. Last night Seattle's Michael Bennet stood.

For Veteran's Day Weekend, it looks like NFL players will stand for the National Anthrm.
