This summer is worse than ever. I-70 is becoming I-25. :VeryScared:

"According to Colorado State Patrol, between I-70 mile marker 252 at the El Rancho exit and mile marker 259 at the Morrison/Dinosaur Ridge exit, the agency covered 144 accidents in 2014; 163 in 2015; and 156 last year."

Closed down again today. Time to move to Gunnison and listen to the Denver radio traffic reports with relief?

I think the western slope is booming from Denver transplants. I know one woman who sat on I-70 FIVE hours today between Evergreen and Morrison.
I took me an hour mostly on Hwy 40. Horrific accident scene..

There's 5 or 6 ways out of here in an emergency. I've officially given up hope any will work with all this traffic, up or down.

The whole front range is a traffic nightmare now, and lots of raging rude aggressive drivers. Be careful out there and leave space.

Meanwhile down south on C470 there's a 15 mile long construction zone Kipling all the way east to Quebec, double fines are make those zones longer
and longer anymore, often at a crawl. That's a daily nightmare.

For the first time I had to cross the median Sunday or face hours trapped on the highway. That accident happened at 11:00 am, people were still trapped
on I-70 at 4pm. They need to construct safe crossing points on the median (versus 4wheel drive romper ride), reduce lanes on the other side with cones
and let people get off that way. They certainly had the time to do it.

Either a 3 way light at Hwy 40 and Lookout Mountain exit would help. Traffic doesn't stop heading WB leaving EB Hwy 40 traffic stuck, and people coming off Lookout Mountain nowhere to go. Meanwhile they needed cops directing traffic there and on the Genessee side. You can't just let thousands of people sit
for 5 hours.

As for the cyclists who were breezing past stuck traffic, there's 12" between you and death via one suddenly opened car door or turned steering wheel.
I saw two taking big chances like it was nothing.
