WB I-70 was closed for an hour at Beaver Brook and two semis blew
over in winds clocked at 75mph.  Passenger vehicles' windows and 
windshields shattering was also reported.  I-70 reopened to passenger
vehicles but winds remained high throughout the day.

In Memory of James "Andy" A. Schneider
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of James "Andy" Schneider who passed suddenly February 3, 2017.

Andy was raised in Evergreen and the longtime owner of E.S.S Schneider, Inc. 
(Evergreen Street Sweeping established in the early 1980s) a family run business 
providing paving, asphalt and commercial snow removal services. He moved to Bailey 
5 years ago and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends in the area. 
 
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm 
at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park.

A brush fire that broke out on Hwy 285 near S. Turkey Creek Rd.
this afternoon around 1pm prompted evacuations of 12 -13 homes
in the area. Five fire agencies responded and brought the fire
under control by 3:30pm despite high winds in the area.

Local couple finds good fortune on game show

Shana and Mike Gustafson won $529,921 on NBC's new show "The Wall"
but kept their contractual agreement to keep their big win secret since
the October, 2015 taping until the show aired January 3. They hosted a 
viewing party at The Wild Game to share the excitement with family and 
friends. 
 
The couple will be paying off student loans for their children after
IRS' 40% cut, and keeping their jobs. Mike is the marketing director at TJ's 
Wood Products in Bailey and former owner of The Donut Shoppe in downtown 
Evergreen. Shana is a parole officer in Colorado.
